HR Generalist (Part-Time 24 hours a week)

MicroGenDX provides physicians and their patients with the most advanced molecular based microbial testing available. The Human Resources Generalist will perform the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Hourly range:  $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hire of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers as required to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Acquires employee eligibility verification, as required.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Handles routine employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Attends and, as required, participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices as required to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of human resources management experience with at least two years handling employee relations and disciplinary matters required.
  • Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification, such as PHR, SPHR, CP, CCP, SCP, or similar, highly preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.  
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the company’s facilities.
