Billing Denials Representative

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities/Requires

  • Keeping up with Accounts Receivable from insurance
    • Paper Mail
    • Electronic Mail
  • Calling on Accounts Receivable  
  • Document information from insurance explanation of benefits
  • Keep current with billing and insurance information, trends and developments
  • Send any needed appeals to insurance
  • Assist with inbound patient roll over patient calls
    • Answer general billing questions, set up payment plans
    • Processing credit card payments from patient calls
  • Maintain a professional tone and demeanor when speaking to patients and coworkers.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be willing to learn new processes to make our job more efficient.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
  • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
  • Any other duties assigned as needed by the companies needs
  • Adheres to all compliance and HIPAA regulations

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Knowledge of lab billing preferred but not required
  • Focused and detail-oriented
  • Ability to be responsive to ever-changing matrix of clinic/center needs and act accordingly.
  • Typing skills equal to 30 words per minute
  • Proficiency in performance of basic math functions
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical office experience a plus.
